Within a ReCharge subscription there's two key dates:
- Charge Date
- Delivery Date
Ongoing or Rolling Subscriptions
For all subscriptions which renew month to month, the delivery and charge dates are linked together. This is the date the customer is billed and therefore the order goes straight into Shopify.
A merchant cannot split these dates, for example you can't charge a customer on one date but then have the order pushed into Shopify on another date. Therefore when you are defining Shipping Windows for ongoing or rolling subscriptions, the date you select will be for both charge and delivery.
Pre-Paid Subscriptions
A pre-paid subscription works differently as all the queued orders are created at the point a customer signs up to a subscription. For example, let's say a customer signs up to a 12 month pre-paid subscription. ReCharge will create 11 queued orders with set delivery dates at zero value. Then after that there will be a renewal date, where the customer can pay for another 12 months and the process repeats again.
Renewal date (Charge and delivery)
Queued order (zero value order)
When a shipping window is placed and the order is pre-paid, autoMate will update either the renewal date or the queued order, what is next in the list.
